These terms govern your use of BBHunt Japan's website and services.

1. Purpose of the Service

BBHunt Japan provides a platform connecting organizations with ethical hackers, cybersecurity researchers, and security professionals for the purpose of identifying, reporting, validating, and remediating security vulnerabilities.

Services may include:

  • Bug bounty programs (BBP)
  • Vulnerability disclosure programs (VDP)
  • Security triage and coordination
  • Researcher communication tools
  • Reward and payment management

2. Eligibility

Users must:

  • Be at least 18 years old or have legal parental/guardian consent
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Provide accurate registration information
  • Not be subject to sanctions or prohibited by law from using the Service

Organizations registering on behalf of a company represent that they have authority to bind that entity.

3. User Accounts

Users are responsible for:

  • Maintaining account confidentiality
  • All activities conducted through their account
  • Promptly notifying BBHunt Japan of unauthorized access

BBHunt Japan may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Acceptable Security Research

Researchers may only perform security testing:

  • Within explicitly authorized program scope
  • In accordance with the applicable program rules
  • Without intentionally disrupting services or accessing unnecessary data

Prohibited activities include:

  • Social engineering
  • Physical attacks
  • Denial-of-service attacks
  • Malware deployment
  • Extortion or ransom demands
  • Accessing, modifying, or deleting user data beyond what is necessary to demonstrate a vulnerability

5. Vulnerability Reports

Submitted reports must:

  • Be original and submitted in good faith
  • Include sufficient technical details for reproduction
  • Avoid disclosure of sensitive information unrelated to the vulnerability
  • Not contain malicious code

BBHunt Japan and participating organizations reserve the right to determine report validity, severity, duplicate status, and reward eligibility.

6. Rewards and Payments

Reward eligibility and payout amounts are determined by the participating organization unless otherwise specified.

BBHunt Japan may:

  • Facilitate payments on behalf of organizations
  • Conduct identity verification or tax compliance procedures
  • Delay or deny payments in cases of fraud, abuse, sanctions, or policy violations

Researchers are responsible for applicable taxes and local legal obligations.

7. Intellectual Property

Researchers retain ownership of their original research unless otherwise agreed.

By submitting reports through the platform, users grant BBHunt Japan and the participating organization a non-exclusive license to review, reproduce, and use submitted materials for vulnerability remediation and program operation purposes.

8. Confidentiality

Users must keep vulnerability information confidential until:

  • The organization authorizes disclosure; or
  • Public disclosure is permitted under the applicable program policy

Unauthorized disclosure may result in account termination and legal action.

9. Prohibited Conduct

Users may not:

  • Violate laws or regulations
  • Interfere with platform operations
  • Impersonate others
  • Submit fraudulent or spam reports
  • Abuse rewards systems
  • Reverse engineer or exploit the platform itself
  • Harass other users or organizations

10. Suspension and Termination

BBHunt Japan may suspend or terminate access without prior notice if a user:

  • Violates these Terms
  • Engages in unlawful activity
  • Creates security or reputational risks
  • Attempts to abuse the platform

11. Disclaimer

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.

BBHunt Japan does not guarantee:

  • Continuous availability
  • Error-free operation
  • Reward eligibility
  • Acceptance of vulnerability reports

Organizations remain solely responsible for their systems and remediation decisions.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BBHunt Japan shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from use of the Service.

Total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by the user to BBHunt Japan during the preceding three (3) months.

13. Changes to the Terms

BBHunt Japan may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of Japan.

Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Osaka District Court unless otherwise required by law.
